However, as you've come to expect from this expanded sequel, there's a few more tricks you can perform with the Star Fragments in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. In the prior entry these Star Fragments were used as materials to upgrade certain armour sets, which is what they do in Tears of the Kingdom (plus they can still be sold for a pretty 200 Rupees). One such distraction is the Star Fragments, which were also present in Zelda: Breath of the Wild – so series veterans might be used to them. Much like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild before it, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is packed with countless things in the distance to grab your attention. Things like the ancient armor and the tiaras and circlets you can buy in Gerudo Town require star fragments to upgrade them all the way.Much like it's predecessor, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom once again has you chasing down shooting stars to collect some extremely handy Star Fragments. The most important use is for upgrading armor and gear. Cooking with a star fragment is pretty much a waste of a super rare item. Adding it to a meal will increase the health you gain from the meal, but not by much. You can sell a star fragment for 300 rupees. Hopefully, you’ll have better luck this time. Sit at it again until night and repeat the process - pick a direction and wait. The star fragment won’t come under the rules of gravity until you’re close to it. The last hurdle you’ll have to overcome is physics. You’re in a bit of a rush here, because the star fragment will disappear at 5 a.m. Use your scope to drop a pin on (or as close as you can to) the star fragment.
